The Home Health Aide will work under the direction of a Registered Professional Nurse, Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, or Speech Language Pathologist, ensuring that patients receive the necessary care and support. The role includes responsibilities such as meal preparation, light housekeeping, and providing routine individualized healthcare, which may involve changing bandages, dressing wounds, and applying topical medications to elderly patients, convalescents, or individuals with disabilities. In addition to personal care, the Home Health Aide may perform lab work and other patient care-related tasks, depending on their training. The incumbent is responsible for the para-professional aspects of care, ensuring patient safety, and may also be involved in the installation of telehealth equipment in the patient's residence as outlined in the individualized plan of care.
