Bay Cove Human Services is dedicated to partnering with individuals to help them overcome challenges and realize their personal potential. The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) plays a crucial role in this mission by providing specialized direct care services to assigned individuals. This position requires a compassionate approach to care, ensuring that the needs of program participants are met in accordance with their Individual Service Plans (ISPs). The CNA will work cooperatively with staff and program participants to implement therapeutic activities that support the goals outlined in these plans. In this role, the CNA will coordinate personal care schedules and utilize their training to engage individuals effectively. Responsibilities include performing personal care functions for individuals with disabilities, such as changing, toileting, feeding, and laundry. The CNA must demonstrate proficiency in using electronic databases, email, and online training systems, as well as adaptive equipment and mechanical lift systems to assist with the movement and lifting of physically disabled individuals. Additionally, the CNA will be responsible for training individuals to enhance their independent functioning in self-care and daily living activities, including personal hygiene and grooming. Accurate documentation of daily activities is essential, and the CNA will report any medical or health concerns to the appropriate nursing staff and program directors. Participation in the development and implementation of ISPs as part of the Residential Services team is also a key aspect of this position. The CNA will attend required meetings and training sessions to further develop their skills and knowledge. Operating accessible vans equipped with lifts is also part of the job, ensuring that all services are delivered with respect and dignity, in line with human rights training and Bay Cove standards.
