About the position

The part-time CNA Instructor will be responsible for training individuals to become Certified Nursing Assistants. This role involves preparing curriculum, conducting classes, and performing basic administrative duties. The instructor will also track student attendance and provide updates to relevant departments, while being open to covering additional healthcare programs as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare curriculum and compile materials for upcoming classes.
  • Train CNA, HHA, and Medication Aide students.
  • Track attendance and provide weekly updates to CET and CCRC.
  • Perform basic administrative duties such as making copies, answering emails, ordering supplies, and data entry.
  • Maintain inventory of supplies.
  • Cover the actor position and instruct other healthcare programs (e.g., CPR, Medication Aide, Home Health Aide).
  • Attend required professional development and college trainings.

Requirements

  • Completed a course in teaching adults or have experience in teaching adults or supervising nurse aides.
  • Two years of nursing experience, with at least one year in long-term care services.
  • Valid nursing licensure and valid BLS/HCP certification.
  • Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Basic computer knowledge and equivalent education such as college/university courses or a degree.

Nice-to-haves

  • Registered Nurse with at least two years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access.
  • Teaching experience at the post-secondary level.
  • Master's degree in nursing.
