About the position

The CNA, Med Surg, PRN position at Northwest Florida Community Hospital involves providing essential patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Responsibilities

  • Collect data related to the status of patients and ongoing treatment responses.
  • Perform treatments and procedures including specimen collection, venipuncture, and ADLs.
  • Take and accurately record vital signs in the patient's medical record.
  • Assist with preparing patients for surgical procedures.
  • Deliver and set up patient food trays and assist with feeding as needed.
  • Maintain unit-based competencies and perform other duties as assigned.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of patients from newborn to geriatric.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of a Health Occupational Program equivalent to or exceeding the Nursing Assistant Program or completion of the first semester of LPN program.
  • 1 to 2 years of acute care experience preferred.
  • BLS competency and completion of Patient Support Associate training within the first 90 days of employment.
  • Ability to greet and effectively relate to patients; good interpersonal skills; ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing.

Nice-to-haves

  • Some computer and clerical skills.
