About the position

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) position at Our Lady of Wisdom Community Care Center involves providing essential care and support to residents in a retirement living and home health environment. The role requires a commitment to quality healthcare services and the ability to work collaboratively within a team to meet the daily living and dining needs of residents. The CNA will be responsible for monitoring residents' conditions, assisting licensed staff, and maintaining a safe and clean environment.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute the needs of assigned resident group with daily living and dining needs.
• Make rounds on assigned group noting significant issues for intervention.
• Provide intervention as needed to ensure a safe and clean environment.
• Check all residents daily for the condition of skin, reporting findings to Licensed Staff assigned to the unit.
• Assist Licensed Staff when needed to position residents in need of treatment.
• Take and record vital parameters as assigned.
• Assist with weekly and monthly weights as assigned.
• Record information on the electronic health record.
• Provide laundry care, housekeeping, and dining needs including assisting with activities.
• Perform any other tasks as assigned by the Licensed Staff, Director of Nursing, or Assistant Director of Nursing.

Requirements

• Valid nurse aide certification with the State of Louisiana.
• Ability to organize, plan and supervise care of residents.
• Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships.
• Ability to demonstrate good emotional, mental, and physical health with sound judgment and high standards.
• Ability and willingness to provide emergency care as needed for any resident in the facility.
• Ability and willingness to function as a cooperative team member with each member of the nursing department and other departments.
• Ability to provide related bedside resident care services as per facility policy and procedures.
• Ability to adapt to on-the-job training and adhere to standards of the facility.
