About the position

The position involves collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to deliver quality patient care under the supervision of a licensed nurse. The role requires a California Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) to provide care that meets the specific needs of patients, particularly in a geriatric or acute care setting. Responsibilities include assisting with admissions, transfers, and discharges, ensuring patient comfort, and maintaining a safe and clean environment.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) in the delivery of quality patient/resident care under the direction of a licensed nurse.
  • Delivers care with consideration to age-specific needs.
  • Contributes to overall unit functions.
  • Ensures complete room setup for new admissions and orients patients and families to the facility.
  • Transfers/transports patients to activities, therapies, and other departments safely and on time.
  • Checks and cleans equipment and materials as per Infection Control Policy.
  • Documents daily care of patients accurately and timely.
  • Communicates changes in patients' conditions to the licensed nurse.
  • Participates in the completion of the plan of care to meet established goals.

Requirements

  • Completion of an approved nursing assistant course.
  • California Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) certification - CA Department of Public Health - REQUIRED.
  • AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) certification - American Heart Association - REQUIRED.

Nice-to-haves

  • 1 Year Recent experience in a geriatric setting or an acute care hospital.
  • Current certification as Nursing Assistant for long-term care and skilled nursing required, rehab preferred.
