About the position
The CNA position at Essex Meadows involves providing compassionate care to residents in a senior living environment. The role focuses on assisting residents with their personal hygiene and daily living activities while promoting their independence. CNAs will work in a supportive team atmosphere, ensuring a safe and clean environment for residents, and will be responsible for documenting care and reporting any changes in resident conditions.
Responsibilities
- Cares for the overall resident personal hygiene and ADL (activities of daily living) functioning.
- Provides compassionate care while encouraging residents to their maximum level of independence under the direction of nursing supervisors.
- Encourages participation in facility functions and assists with transportation, transfer, escorting, and supervision as necessary.
- Maintains resident environment in a clean, orderly condition and reports any needed repairs or cleaning.
- Answers signal lights promptly.
- Charts care performed using electronic medical records.
- Reports all assessments or observations of changes in resident condition accurately and timely, documenting appropriately.
- Maintains residents' safety and rights, performing duties in accordance with facility policies and regulations.
- Attends in-service training, educational seminars, and staff meetings as needed.
Requirements
- Current CT Certified Nurse Aide certification.
- Ability to build rapport with patients.
- Compassionate and caring demeanor.
- Ability to work well in teams.
