About the position

The CNAPP Systems Engineer plays a crucial role in providing technical sales support within Lacework's direct sales organization. This position involves engaging with potential customers to demonstrate product capabilities, address technical objections, and build strong relationships as a trusted technical advisor. The role also includes mentoring junior Sales Engineers and requires a solid understanding of cloud security architectures, particularly with AWS.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the direct sales team to identify and qualify business opportunities, addressing key customer technical objections and developing strategies to resolve technical blockers.
  • Own the technical relationship with Lacework's customers, including conducting proof-of-concept work and coordinating additional technical resources.
  • Deliver product demonstrations to customers and engage hands-on to showcase Lacework's value in their environments.
  • Recommend security best practices, cloud architecture, and application infrastructure necessary for implementing a complete cloud security solution based on Lacework.
  • Provide constructive feedback from customers to product management to enhance the Lacework solution.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience as a technical sales engineer in a cloud computing environment or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Proven ability to present and deliver technical demonstrations to executives, architects, and technical staff.
  • Ability to log into a Linux console and write simple Bash scripts with assistance.
  • Understanding of automation tools like Puppet, Chef, or Ansible.

Nice-to-haves

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect or equivalent certification from Azure or GCP.
  • Experience with cloud deployments, particularly regarding security and compliance requirements.
  • Experience in architecting and developing software or infrastructure for scalable, distributed systems.
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies in the cloud/IT space.
  • Previous experience in DevOps/DevSecOps roles.
  • Experience with compliance audits, either as an auditor or being audited.
