About the position
The CNC 5-Axis Machinist position at NOV Wellbore Technologies in Cedar Park, Texas, involves operating and controlling CNC machines to produce high-quality parts. The role requires expertise in G & M codes, setup and operation of Mazak Integrex 5-axis machining centers, and ensuring precise measurements and safety in production. The successful candidate will work the night shift and be responsible for maintaining equipment, performing inspections, and adhering to company policies.
Responsibilities
- Operate and control CNC 5-axis Mazak Integrex machines under supervision.
- Perform setup changes and first article inspections on production runs.
- Load parts using overhead lifting equipment and set offsets.
- Identify and resolve problems before and during production runs.
- Use precision measuring instruments and read blueprints to determine specifications.
- Maintain cleanliness of the work area and perform basic preventative maintenance on equipment.
- Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Knowledge of basic math, blueprints, and routers.
- At least 3-5 years of combined CNC mill and CNC lathe experience or 5-axis experience.
- Ability to demonstrate good work ethic and teamwork.
- Knowledge of proper use of measuring tools/gauges and cutting tools.
