About the position
The CNC Lathe Operator is responsible for setting up and operating Swiss Style and Conventional Lathe machines to produce finished products. This role involves interpreting setup instructions, ensuring the correct setup of machines, and performing quality checks on the first piece produced. The position is for the 2nd shift, working four 10-hour days from Monday to Thursday.
Responsibilities
- Review schedule and identify when a job needs to be set up.
- Interpret setup instructions and documentation for existing products.
- Set up the machine with the required materials including tooling, programs, instructions, attachments, and fixtures.
- Complete first piece runoff, ensuring setup, order of operations, clearances, and tolerances are correct.
- Perform first piece approval on work pieces.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of 1 year experience as a Set-up Operator
- Basic math skills
- Mechanical knowledge
