About the position

The CNC Lathe Operator (Setup & Programming) position is essential for manufacturing high-quality parts using advanced CNC turning equipment. The role involves machine setup, programming, and operation, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards within an ISO 9001 certified facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong CNC machining skills and a commitment to precision and safety.

Responsibilities

• Set up and program CNC lathes and Swiss screw machines to manufacture products from various materials.
• Run production parts that have been programmed or set up as required.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics to ensure accurate production to specified dimensions and tolerances.
• Inspect finished parts using measuring tools to ensure they meet quality standards.
• Follow strict safety protocols to maintain a safe work environment.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience as a dedicated lathe setup operator or CNC lathe programmer.
• Minimum of 5 total years of CNC machining experience.
• Capable of programming directly on the machine.
• Extensive knowledge of reading blueprints.
• Familiarity or experience interpreting GD&T is preferred.
• Good measuring skills with precision measuring equipment.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience programming using CAD/CAM software.
• Familiarity with advanced measuring tools (CMM's, optical comparators, etc).
• Experience in the use of hoists, pulleys, personnel lifts, and material handling.
