About the position
The CNC Machine Lathe Operator/Programmer at AAM is responsible for setting up, programming, and operating Mazak CNC Lathes to produce tooling and prototypes. This role is crucial in ensuring high-quality manufacturing processes, with a focus on precision and quality control. The operator will work in a collaborative environment, taking ownership of their work and contributing to the overall success of the team.
Responsibilities
- Set up, program, and operate Mazak CNC Lathe for tooling and prototypes.
- Write hand programs without assistance and troubleshoot as needed.
- Guide Blueprint Reading and GD&T processes.
- Perform lathe set ups, offsets, and tool changes.
- Conduct accurate dimensional evaluations of parts and tooling for quality control.
Requirements
- 3 years of proven programming experience, preferably with Mazatrol.
- 5 years of demonstrated experience in lathe setup and operation.
- High School diploma and/or GED required.
- Must pass background check and drug screen.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with multiple types of controls.
- Ability to hold a tolerance of +/- .001.
