About the position

The CNC Machine Operator position is responsible for the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of CNC machines and measuring equipment. The role focuses on producing quality parts while adhering to production expectations and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assure 100% compliance with safety regulations within the department
• Read and interpret blueprint drawings
• Load raw material and check quality of castings
• Operate, changeover, and set up CNC machines
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair CNC machines
• Diagnose problems related to machine programs and parts
• Make tool changes and minor machine adjustments
• Implement preventative maintenance activities
• Measure parts to confirm conformance to specifications using various measuring tools
• Identify and correct measurement deficiencies
• Identify material defects in raw castings and finished parts
• Segregate suspect material
• Operate multiple machines as needed
• Escalate issues to leadership when necessary
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required
• 3-5 years of experience repairing and operating CNC machines, preferably in metal machining

Nice-to-haves

• Ability to use and/or willingness to be trained on forklifts, cranes, electric pallet jacks
• Ability to work in a team-based environment
• Very high level of attention to detail
• Ability to use computers and knowledge of software, including MS Office
• Good knowledge of the metric system and basic math skills
• Ability to transfer knowledge and train other team members
