About the position
JACO Machine Works is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join their team. This mid-level position involves operating and setting up various CNC machining centers, ensuring high-quality production of parts for the medical, aerospace, and semiconductor industries. The role requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to troubleshoot machining issues effectively.
Responsibilities
- Perform setups and operation of horizontal, vertical and 5-axis CNC machining centers.
- Retrieve machine programs from database, create/read tool lists for job.
- Accurately set tools and work offsets, changing tooling as needed to restore operation.
- Ensure produced parts meet drawing specifications with standard inspection instruments.
- Troubleshoot and perform basic edits of G-code to solve problems.
- Read CMM reports and adjust machine offsets as needed.
- Follow work instructions and communicate with Supervisor.
- Train machine operators on any job that you set up.
- Deburr parts when needed.
- Perform basic machine maintenance.
- Keep work area clean and organized.
Requirements
- Must be organized and accurate with documentation.
- Familiarity with Fanuc and Mitsubishi or similar controls.
- Good knowledge of machine processes of manufacturing and problem-solving skills to ensure strict quality/dimensional and cosmetic standards.
- Ability to work with tight tolerances like +/-.0002”
- Strong work ethic and ability to work well with others.
- Good knowledge of G and M codes.
- Knowledgeable with GD&T.
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification required.
- 5-10 years' experience as a CNC machine operator or setup.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with Matsuura, Makino, Kitamura or Ganesh milling equipment.
- CAD/CAM experience a plus.
- Experience with Jobboss shop software a plus.
- Background in AS9100 work environment.
