About the position

The CNC Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining and servicing CNC machines to ensure optimal performance and safety in the manufacturing environment. This role involves inspecting equipment, troubleshooting malfunctions, and training staff on proper machine operation. The technician will also oversee the purchase of new equipment and maintain records of maintenance activities to track equipment lifespan.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect newly acquired equipment upon arrival to ensure all parts are functioning and meet industry standards.
  • Read work orders to confirm production tasks are within the capacity of the factory's equipment and make provisions for alternate equipment as needed.
  • Abide by safety regulations during manufacturing activities to prevent mechanical hazards.
  • Teach workers how to operate equipment safely to avoid accidents.
  • Enroll in continuous training on technical maintenance practices to stay updated with the latest techniques.
  • Supervise the purchase of new equipment, ensuring quality and durability through testing.
  • Carry out routine servicing of equipment to prevent breakdowns and malfunctions.
  • Keep records of maintenance activities to track equipment lifespan and determine replacement needs.
  • Troubleshoot equipment to identify and resolve specific malfunctioning issues.
  • Communicate with management or clients about equipment faults and maintenance techniques.
  • Prioritize daily work orders based on their importance.
  • Perform other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of mechanical maintenance processes.
  • Knowledge of CNC machines including mills, lathes, and gear cuts.
  • Critical thinking ability to troubleshoot and detect malfunctions.
  • Discipline to execute tasks without procrastination.
  • Good time management skills to work efficiently and meet demands.
  • Ability to handle basic tools effectively.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of safety precautions in a manufacturing environment.
  • Good communication skills.
