About the position
The CNC Mill Operator is responsible for the operation and oversight of CNC milling machines in a production environment. This role involves ensuring the quality of parts produced, maintaining equipment, and adhering to safety protocols while working in a job shop setting.
Responsibilities
- Run mills for production work.
- Oversee the quality of parts produced in the machining cell.
- Protect against potential damage to all machines and take ownership of the machine cell.
- Plan tooling requirements for future jobs to ensure minimum downtime.
- Inspect and deburr parts to meet blueprint specifications using proper measuring instruments.
- Bore/mill jaws for proper work holding.
- Perform daily and weekly maintenance on machine shop equipment.
- Follow all safety policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of experience working unaided in a job shop environment.
- Good understanding of CNC machining work and tool offsets.
- Ability to read and understand blueprint dimensions and how to inspect.
- Ability to adapt work behaviors based on a changing production schedule.
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Windows.
- Basic understanding of ISO 9001 and quality principles.
- Dependable with own transportation and detail-oriented.
