About the position

The CNC Mill Programmer at American Precision Industries is responsible for creating programs using MasterCam to manufacture metal parts according to blueprint specifications. This full-time position requires a senior-level programmer with extensive experience in CNC milling and programming, particularly with MasterCam software. The role involves working independently to develop and update programs, ensuring quality and precision in the manufacturing process.

Responsibilities

• Program metal parts to be run on various Mori Seiki and Doosan CNC Vertical, Horizontal, and 5-Axis mills.
• Daily programming using MasterCam 2024.
• Review blueprints and establish a sequence of operations to produce products.
• Update programs with needed changes.
• Establish correct tools to use on each machine to manufacture the product.
• Design fixtures for CNC Mill runs.
• Produce setup sheets for operators.
• Determine size and availability of materials.
• Request materials for production through Purchasing.
• Daily communications with CAD Department, operators, and management to develop products as necessary.
• Review new jobs and determine priority.
• Review returned products and update documentation as necessary.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 5 years experience with MasterCam programming software (2020 or above).
• Experience as a CNC mill machinist is helpful.
• Skills to plan and program complicated parts according to blueprints.
• Strong knowledge of tolerance, blueprint reading, and GD&T to develop products as necessary.
• Ability to work independently with little supervision.
• Excellent communication skills and willingness to work with others.
• Excellent work ethic and attendance.
• Attention to detail.
