About the position

The Associate Model Maker at Globus Medical is responsible for prototype fabrication to support product development in the medical device sector. This role involves taking a product from concept through design, prototyping, development, testing, and manufacturing. The Model Maker will also maintain and service machines to ensure optimal operation, contributing to the overall quality and efficiency of the production process.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes CNC and manual equipment including mills, lathes, and EDM for fabricating models, prototypes, test parts, and low volume production of instruments and implants.
• Participates and provides input in design meetings and brainstorming sessions.
• Ensures that all machines and measurement equipment are calibrated regularly and in compliance with Globus' quality system.
• Performs routine maintenance and servicing of machines to ensure smooth operation.
• Maintains a clean work environment through regular cleaning and upkeep.
• Assists in process/tooling development for manufacturing.
• Adheres to the company Code of Conduct and ensures compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Represents the company professionally and upholds ethical business practices.

Requirements

• 1+ years' experience in Machining/Tool & Die making or model making, preferably in the medical device area.
• Experience with CNC and manual mills, lathes, and EDM machines.
• High school diploma required.
• Proven creative skills in design and ability to improve existing designs.
• Strong self-starter who can work with little or no supervision.
• Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced environment.
• Well organized, detail-oriented, and a team player capable of meeting deadlines.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.

Nice-to-haves

• Mastercam or related CAM experience a plus.
