About the position

The CNC Operator II position involves operating CNC machining centers to perform tasks such as sawing, drilling, and routing. The role requires loading programs, selecting and installing fixtures, and making minor program modifications as needed. This position is full-time on the 3rd shift, with a focus on maintaining quality and efficiency in production processes.

Responsibilities

  • Load programs and perform operations such as sawing, drilling, and routing on the CNC machining center.
  • Select and install proper fixtures for parts as required.
  • Perform minor modifications to programs when necessary.
  • Gather materials according to work orders.
  • Complete setup tasks including setting drills, end mills, cutters, and other tooling.
  • Utilize vacuum tables and ensure proper vacuum levels for production.
  • Pre-run program cycles to validate acceptability before production.
  • Load and edit CNC programs as necessary.
  • Determine if the CNC table working surface is adequate or needs preparation.
  • Carry out machining tasks safely and efficiently.
  • Perform quality checks using blueprints, calipers, and gauges before, during, and after machining.
  • Print and post work schedules for the work center.
  • Interpret and follow work schedules accurately.
  • Maintain CNC equipment and tooling in good condition.
  • Provide value to customers through cost, quality, and delivery.
  • Communicate issues and opportunities for improvement to supervisors and engineers.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Assist other departments as necessary.
  • Perform all reasonably related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • At least 3 years of CNC experience required.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work overtime.
  • Must be eligible to work on programs subject to ITAR Regulations (U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident).
