About the position

The CNC Programmer at Pankl Aerospace is responsible for developing and maintaining CNC programs for contour path machining of metal parts. This role involves planning machining processes, analyzing technical drawings, and ensuring the quality and efficiency of CNC operations in the aerospace industry.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain CNC programs for contour path machining of metal parts.
• Analyze drawings, sketches, and design data to determine dimensions and configurations for cuts.
• Determine reference points and direction of machine cutting paths.
• Prepare geometric layouts using CAD software to show cutting paths and reference points.
• Observe machine operations during trial runs to validate programs and instructions.
• Revise and improve CNC programming as needed, focusing on quality and efficiency.
• Design fixtures and work-holding methods to enhance machining processes.
• Support training and cross-functional efforts within the team.
• Promote shop safety practices and adhere to company quality procedures.

Requirements

• 2-year degree or better in Mechanical/Production Engineering or Manufacturing, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of CAD/CAM programming experience using MasterCAM, SolidWorks, Siemens NX, or equivalent.
• Strong technical knowledge with 5-10 years of experience in the aerospace and/or metal cutting industry.
• Experience with multi-axis CNC mill-turn programming and lathe and 4-5 axis mill operations.
• Familiarity with verification software such as Vericut or Crash Guard is preferred.
• Proficiency with Siemens, Mazak, Mori-Seiki, or similar machine controls.
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office applications.
• Experience with Kaizen, 5S, Continuous Improvement, and Lean Enterprise practices.
• Knowledge of ISO 9000 requirements.

Nice-to-haves

• Bilingual in German and/or Spanish is desirable.
• Knowledge of Flight Safety Procedures is a plus.
• Experience with Conflict Resolution.
