About the position

The CNC Programmer and Estimator at Boise Metal Works Inc is responsible for estimating and programming parts for CNC machines, specifically the Waterjet and Turret punch. This role involves planning, developing, and documenting the sequence of operations for CNC machines to ensure that the manufactured parts meet customer specifications and requirements. The position requires strong communication skills and attention to detail, as well as the ability to work with precision measuring instruments.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that all required information to manufacture part is on the customer drawing.
• Create and manipulate part geometry for CNC programs.
• Generate program, CNC code and/or sheet metal flat patterns as required.
• Provide set-up sheet(s) for each job.
• Evaluate and approve program integrity.
• Develop and program fixtures as required.
• Sequence all programs in-order to ensure accurate and cost effective manufacturing.
• Recommend special tools to maximize productivity.

Requirements

• CNC programming experience
• Proficiency with precision measuring instruments
• Experience with CNC laser cutting
• Knowledge of calipers and micrometers
• Mid-level machining skills
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to read blueprints
• Detail-oriented
