About the position

Davis Tool, Inc. is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer to join our team in Hillsboro, Oregon. This position offers a growth opportunity within a company that manufactures a wide variety of parts for the Aerospace, High Tech, and Medical industries. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating CNC programs and process documentation for multi-axis lathes and milling machines. The role requires the ability to create high-quality CNC programs that meet or reduce quoted machine setup and run times within a specified time limit. A typical day for a CNC Programmer at Davis Tool involves creating efficient and accurate CNC programs, improving the efficiency of existing CNC programs, and utilizing MRP software to create tool lists that maximize metal removal rates for various materials. The programmer will also provide feedback and suggestions on fixture design and contribute to the development of manufacturing plans. Collaboration with machinists to enhance existing processes is a key aspect of this role. This position is full-time, with a Monday to Friday workweek from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. It requires on-site work, and candidates must be able to communicate clearly and concisely on both technical and non-technical matters. Experience in running CNC equipment in a production environment is essential, and familiarity with Siemens NX is preferred but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

  • Create efficient and accurate CNC programs.
  • Improve efficiency of existing CNC programs.
  • Utilize MRP software in the creation of tool lists for CNC programs that provide maximum metal removal rates for a variety of materials.
  • Provide feedback and suggestions on fixture design and contribute to the development of manufacturing plans.
  • Work with machinists to improve existing processes.

Requirements

  • Experience as a CNC programmer.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, on both technical and non-technical matters.
  • Ability to read & understand engineering drawings & common CNC programming languages.
  • Experience running CNC equipment in a production environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Siemens NX experience is preferred but not required.
