About the position

The CNC Programmer/Gun Drill Operator at Intex Technologies is responsible for programming and operating CNC work centers to fabricate component parts according to engineering specifications. This role involves troubleshooting machining operations, performing secondary machining tasks, and ensuring quality control through inspection of parts. The operator will also assist in training lower-level machinists and perform preventative maintenance as scheduled.

Responsibilities

  • Work from blueprints, samples, work orders and instructions to install and adjust tooling and fixtures.
  • Calculate and write programs for CNC work centers to fabricate component parts to engineering specifications.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve problems concerning machining operations, tools, materials, and CNC programs.
  • Perform secondary machining operations on component parts as required.
  • Analyze component parts configuration/dimensions to determine efficient machining operations for production.
  • Insert computer programs into CNC work centers, set and adjust machine speeds and feeds, modify programs, and document changes.
  • Process first piece through initial run, making adjustments to tooling, programs, and process parameters as needed.
  • Operate and monitor work centers for progressive turning, boring, drilling, tapping, and reaming operations.
  • Fabricate simple holding fixtures for machining operations as required.
  • Inspect parts for dimensions and surface imperfections during production runs.
  • Collaborate with engineering and supervisory personnel to troubleshoot design, equipment, and operating difficulties.
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance duties as assigned by the maintenance department.
  • Assist in training lower-level machinists, answering questions and resolving operating difficulties.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least one year of manufacturing related experience preferred.
  • At least one year of quality related experience preferred.
  • Excellent organization and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
