About the position

The CNC Programmer is responsible for setting up and operating CNC Vertical and Horizontal Mills and Laser Markers while ensuring high quality and safety standards are maintained. This role involves precision machining of parts according to specifications, troubleshooting production issues, and performing preventative maintenance on equipment.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate a vertical and horizontal machining center to meet daily production and quality requirements.
• Place forgings to be cut into the CNC to make precision parts per drawing specifications.
• Make necessary changes to tooling, cutting speed/feed, cutting tool paths, etc., under minimum supervision.
• Deburr parts after machining as required.
• Monitor tool life and dimensional characteristics of the product, replenishing tooling as needed.
• Demonstrate analytical thinking and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot production issues to maintain productivity and minimize downtime.
• Ability to run more than one machine/production process at a time.
• Make decisions, communicate effectively, and work well with others in a team environment.
• Maintain equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements, following manufacturer's instructions, and troubleshooting malfunctions.

Requirements

• Mid-level CNC milling machine experience
• Mechanical knowledge
• Ability to use calipers and micrometers
