About the position

The CNC Programmer - Machinist position is responsible for autonomously delivering finished machined parts based on provided designs. This role involves selecting appropriate machining techniques, developing CNC programs, designing necessary tooling, troubleshooting manufacturing processes, and ensuring that end items meet specified requirements. The position requires working within a precision machine shop environment to set up, adjust, and operate various CNC and manual machines, ensuring precision and quality in machined parts and assemblies.

Responsibilities

• Select appropriate machining techniques for part production.
• Develop CNC programs to support CNC lathes, mills, grinders, and EDM.
• Design and construct necessary tooling for machining processes.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing processes within the machine shop.
• Set up, adjust, and operate a variety of CNC and manual machines.
• Check precision machined parts and assemblies against operational and quality requirements.

Requirements

• Associate degree or 3 years hands-on machinist experience with milling and 3, 4, and 5 axis machines.
• Five years of previous manufacturing programming and machining experience.
• Experience with ASME Y14.5 standards.
• CAD and CAM experience.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in Esprit CAD/CAM software.
• CREO Manufacturing software experience.
• Familiarity with CREO Pro Engineering.
• Experience operating within an NQA-1, NAP401.1, or similar quality program.
• DOE Q-level security clearance.
