About the position
The CNC Programmer / Machinist position at Janco Inc involves scheduling tooling jobs and programming 3-axis CNC milling machines to produce molds, fixtures, and tooling necessary for production. The role requires collaboration with engineers, sales, and quality teams to address production challenges and drive continuous improvement in a plastics manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Schedule all tooling jobs through the machine shop.
- Program and set up 3-axis CNC milling machines.
- Produce molds, fixtures, and associated tooling to support production.
- Read and interpret technical blueprints, CAD designs, and engineering specifications.
- Collaborate with engineers, sales, and quality teams to support production challenges.
Requirements
- Must be able to pass a drug screen and provide verification of work authorization.
- Must be able to walk and stand for long periods.
- Ability to lift 50-70lbs periodically.
- Must be able to bend, twist, squat, or reach.
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing (English).
- CAD/CAM experience (MasterCAM preferred).
- Basic workshop math skills.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a solution-oriented mindset.
- High level of precision and attention to detail.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience working in an FDA or ISO13485-certified environment.
- Background in LEAN manufacturing and continuous improvement processes.
- Familiarity with materials such as aluminum and composites.
- 3-5 years experience in similar roles.
