About the position
The CNC Programmer & Operator at Ultraform Industries is responsible for operating and programming CNC milling machines, specifically the HAAS three-axis mill. This role is crucial for ensuring the precision and quality of metal stamping and wire forming manufacturing processes. The position requires a strong understanding of technical drawings, CNC programming, and machine maintenance, contributing to the overall success of the organization.
Responsibilities
- Read technical drawings and set up machines according to blueprints.
- Perform 2D/3D machining including rough, semi, and finish machining.
- Utilize Mastercam software to model cutting paths and program machines.
- Edit programs at the CNC mill or using CAM as necessary.
- Adjust machine cutting paths or settings to optimize production while maintaining quality.
- Incorporate tools for verification of completed work.
- Troubleshoot and resolve machine problems as they arise.
- Perform basic maintenance and cleaning on the CNC mill.
Requirements
- Experience in CNC programming and operation.
- Proficiency in CNC milling machine operation.
- Knowledge of Mastercam software for programming.
- Experience with ferrous metals and die details.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
- Experience with HAAS CNC Mill is a plus.
