About the position

Dogwood Industries is seeking a qualified CNC Programmer to join their innovative building solutions team. The role focuses on CNC programming for lasers and Python plasma cutters, with an emphasis on professional development and collaboration within the team. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, able to work under tight deadlines, and motivated to take ownership of processes to find solutions for challenging problems.

Responsibilities

• Program CNC machines, specifically for lasers and Python plasma cutters
• Generate DXF files from 3D models to facilitate CNC machining processes
• Help the shop by correcting cut files as required
• Strive to learn and develop skills in detailing by actively engaging with experienced team members
• Embrace opportunities for professional growth and actively participate in training sessions
• Work closely with the 3D modeling and detailing team to understand project requirements
• Demonstrate a proactive approach to supporting team members and colleagues
• Organize and maintain database of information
• Research product knowledge as needed to ensure accurate and complete drawings
• Maintain electronic and written files in a neat and orderly manner
• Maintain documentation in Excel and Word as required

Requirements

• Familiarity with CNC programming for lasers
• Ability to create DXF files from 3D models
• Eagerness to learn and contribute to the detailing process
• Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy in CNC programming
• Proficient in SolidWorks
• Experience in CAD drawings
• Effectively communicate details and specifications with production team
• Ability to manage multiple project deadlines
• Ability to be self-directed
• Strong mathematical skills
• Ability to problem-solve as part of the daily routine
• Ability to adapt to changing requirements to meet management goals and objectives
• Ability to work well with others and participate as a team member
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
• Fluency in standard office software (i.e. Excel, Word, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat)
• Fluency in English, both oral and written, is required for this position
