About the position
The CNC Programmer at Low Country Aerospace is responsible for developing and writing programs for CNC machines, specifically using Mastercam 2024. This role requires extensive experience in CNC programming and a strong mechanical knowledge to produce precision parts while collaborating with engineers and machinists to optimize machining processes.
Responsibilities
- Develop and write programs for CNC machines based on engineering drawings and specifications through Mastercam 2024
- Set up and operate HAAS CNC machines to produce precision parts
- Collaborate with engineers and machinists to optimize machining processes
- Perform quality checks using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, bore gauges, and calipers
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with CNC programs or machine operations
- Maintain documentation of programming changes and updates
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a CNC programmer or similar role
- Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of machining principles
- Proficiency in Mastercam or Fusion 360
- Solid understanding of geometry, schematics, and mathematical calculations related to machining processes
- Familiarity with various tooling used in CNC machining
Nice-to-haves
- CNC programming experience of 5 years (Preferred)
- CAM programming experience of 5 years (Preferred)
