About the position

The CNC Programmer is responsible for developing and optimizing CNC programs based on engineering specifications. This role involves troubleshooting existing programs, collaborating with engineering teams, and maintaining a comprehensive program database to ensure efficient machining operations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop new CNC programs based on engineering drawings and models.
  • Troubleshoot programs and identify areas for process improvement.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve issues related to processes or fixtures.
  • Edit and convert existing programs for use on different machines.
  • Maintain a comprehensive program database for both new and existing programs.
  • Select appropriate tooling from the tooling database.
  • Work closely with the shop floor to make program adjustments and optimize operations.
  • Navigate and utilize the MRP system.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of offline programming experience on 3, 4, and 5-Axis CNC Mills.
  • Proficiency with Master CAM or a similar CAD/CAM system, with the willingness to be trained on Master CAM.
  • Strong knowledge of cutting tools and standard machining practices.
  • Ability to interpret and apply GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
