About the position

The CNC Programmer position involves programming and operating CNC equipment to produce high-quality components for various industries, including military and nuclear power. The role requires reading technical drawings, setting up machines, and optimizing production processes while ensuring safety and quality standards are met.

Responsibilities

• Read technical drawings and set up the machines in accordance with blueprints
• Use computer software to model cutting paths and program machines accordingly (use conversational program methods M&G Codes, FANUC, MAZATROL)
• Adjust machine cutting paths or settings to optimize production while maintaining quality
• Consider tools required to cut materials and program machines accordingly
• Troubleshoot and resolve problems with machines as they arise
• Perform basic machine maintenance such as cleaning and sharpening
• May train new employees on how to properly operate CNC machines and programs
• Operate & set-up CNC Lathes and/or Mills when programming is not required
• Notifies Production Manager or Maintenance of any equipment malfunctions or problems that are impeding production
• Ensures that all safety-related concerns are communicated to Production Manager and Safety Manager and addressed
• Follows safety measures required for job requirements
• Keeps area clean and organized at all times
• Ensures all production data is entered into MES system
• Reports any quality concerns to the Production Manager and Quality Director
• This position programs and operates CNC equipment
• Operates lift truck and performs all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience in CNC programming and operation
• High School diploma or equivalent
