About the position

The CNC Programmer position is an advanced role focused on developing and optimizing multi-axis CNC mill programs for the manufacturing of precision aerospace parts and components. The role requires collaboration with engineering and production teams to ensure machining operations meet quality standards while being performed efficiently and safely. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of aerospace manufacturing processes and be capable of training others in these practices.

Responsibilities

  • Write, modify, and optimize CNC programs for various machining centers using CAD/CAM software.
  • Develop detailed toolpaths, fixture setups, and cutting strategies to maximize efficiency, precision, and material usage.
  • Use standard metrology tools to inspect machined parts for conformity to design requirements.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and blueprints to create accurate CNC programs.
  • Develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and maintain them over time.
  • Work with engineers, machinists, and operators to streamline production processes and implement improvements.
  • Maintain detailed records of programming procedures, revisions, and tooling changes.
  • Troubleshoot programming and machining issues, working to resolve any problems with minimal downtime.
  • Review manufacturing planning against customer requirements.

Requirements

  • U.S. Person required due to export control laws.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, team-oriented, and ability to deal with a wide variety of personalities and communication styles.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • 2+ years CNC programmer experience preferred.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of CNC machines (vertical, horizontal, and multi-axis), tooling, and machining techniques.
