About the position

The CNC Programmer position involves programming, setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC equipment, specifically mills and lathes. The role requires a strong understanding of machining processes, the ability to interpret blueprints, and the capability to hold tolerances while meeting surface finish requirements. The position is full-time and offers competitive pay and benefits, with opportunities for overtime.

Responsibilities

• Program, set up, operate, and maintain CNC equipment.
• Develop mill and lathe programs using Mastercam.
• Analyze drawings to estimate machine run time.
• Monitor machinist progress and provide guidance to ensure parts meet specifications.
• Maintain and upload programs/files through daily backups.
• Ensure machines, equipment, and tools remain in good working order.
• Diagnose minor mechanical issues with equipment and fixturing.
• Calculate proper feed and speed for materials and perform metric conversions.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in CNC programming required.
• CNC lathe and mill programming experience required.
• Ability to program without assistance required.
• Experience with Mastercam required.
• Experience as a CNC operator required.
• Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
• Ability to follow directions and work with little supervision.
• Understanding of machining processes and various equipment types highly desired.
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.

Nice-to-haves

• Shop math skills including calculating proper feed and speed for materials.
• Basic computer skills with file transfer.
