About the position

The CNC Programmer role at Outshaped involves programming and operating CNC and robotic milling cells to create a variety of projects, including aesthetic art and precise geometric forms. The position requires a strong understanding of CAM programming and the ability to interpret 2D drawings and 3D space. The ideal candidate will work closely with the production team to design and execute milling projects, ensuring high-quality results.

Responsibilities

• Program 3, 4, 5 axis CNC and robotic milling cells using CAM software.
• Collaborate with the production team to design projects for milling.
• Provide input on how parts should be made or split for milling.
• Set up parts, stock, and fixturing in the CAM program to match real-world specifications.
• Rough down material and finish mill according to customer specifications.

Requirements

• Familiarity with router tables and CAM programming software such as Fusion, Mastercam, or Powermill.
• Good understanding of 2D drawings and 3D space, including XYZ coordinate systems.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in CNC programming (preferred).
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in CAM programming (preferred).
• Ability to commute to Cokato, MN 55321 (required).
• Willingness to relocate to Cokato, MN 55321 before starting work (required).
