About the position
The CNC Programmer at The Outdoor Group is responsible for programming and operating CNC controlled manufacturing equipment, focusing on vertical and horizontal programming. This role requires a dedicated team player who is solution-oriented and committed to improving manufacturing processes. The position offers opportunities for training personnel and troubleshooting machinery, contributing to a lean and efficient manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC controlled manufacturing equipment for program validation and troubleshooting.
- Train personnel on machine setup, operation, and repair for CNC department machinery.
- Monitor and improve cycle time and process capability on all CNC machines.
- Perform machine setups when the department is behind or when the setup person is absent.
- Setup and prove out new processes and more complex piece parts.
- Troubleshoot and repair machinery.
Requirements
- 5+ years of CNC programming experience, specifically in Vertical and/or Horizontal programming.
- 5+ years of G&M coding experience.
- At least 5+ years of experience with Mastercam/Solidworks.
- High School diploma or GED required.
- 1-2 years of trade school, MCC program, or Wemoco experience is a plus.
- NY Apprenticeship/Journeyman papers are a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
