About the position

The CNC Programmer position at Ohio Carbon Blank involves programming and setting up CNC machines, specifically vertical CNC mills, CNC lathes, and mill/turn machines. The role requires the ability to independently set up machines for limited run parts, often ranging from 1 to 10 pieces, without pre-existing fixtures. The job encompasses a variety of industries including oil and gas, aerospace, and research and development, with a focus on precision machining and adherence to tight tolerances.

Responsibilities

• Program and set up vertical CNC mills, CNC lathes, and mill/turn machines.
• Independently create setups for limited run parts without fixtures.
• Troubleshoot and edit existing programs as needed.
• Develop new programs and CAD models for machining.
• Design and create fixtures and soft jaws for machining processes.
• Utilize Solidworks 2024 and VISI Cam 2024 for programming tasks.
• Interpret GD&T and work with tolerances down to +/-.0002.
• Use analog measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, height masters, indicators, and comparators.

Requirements

• Experience programming and operating CNC machines, particularly vertical mills and lathes.
• Ability to create setups and run parts from start to finish independently.
• Proficiency in interpreting GD&T and working with tight tolerances.
• Experience with Mazatrol and Y Axis lathe is a plus.
• Familiarity with Solidworks and VISI Cam software.
