About the position
The CNC Programming Machinist at Aerotech, Inc. is responsible for programming, setting up, and operating Mazak CNC machines in a precision machine shop environment. This role involves producing newly designed parts, inspecting them for tight tolerances, and utilizing various precision measurement tools. Responsibilities
- Program, set-up, and operate Mazak CNC machines.
- Produce newly designed parts and make process decisions.
- Inspect parts with tight dimensional tolerances using precision measurement tools.
- Program and edit CNC programs, including setting controls for speed, feed, and depth of cut.
- Operate automated load/unload equipment for medium or large batches.
- Select and secure workholding fixtures and cutting tools.
Requirements
- One-year certificate from college or technical school or apprenticeship program in Machine Shop technology; OR three or more years related experience and/or training; OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of speeds and feeds for machining all types of metals.
- Ability to read blueprints and understand GD&T.
- Experience with precision part measurement and inspection tools.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with programming Mazak CNC machines in Mazatrol.
- Effective electronic communication and general software experience.
