About the position
The CNC Setup III position at Milwaukee Valve Company involves the independent operation and setup of various CNC machines, including 2, 3, 4, and 5 axis machines. The role requires maintaining machine operations, performing tool changes, and cycling through programs to obtain first articles without assistance. This position is essential for ensuring the efficient production of high-quality components in a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform independent operation of various CNC machines including 2, 3, 4, and 5 axis machines.
- Maintain machine operations and perform independent tool changes and setups without assistance.
- Cycle through proven and unproven programs to obtain first articles on multiple machine types.
- Determine work holding and tool selection for machining tasks.
- Extensively edit programs as needed for machine operation.
- Mentor and assist in training of other employees in machining processes.
- Document processes accurately and maintain a clean work area.
- Detect and report defective equipment, materials, and faulty operations.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 4 years related machining experience or training.
- Ability to read and interpret safety policies, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with others at all levels.
- Ability to carry out instructions and deal effectively with problems and situations.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with HMC, VMC, HTL, VTL, Swiss Screw, Multi-Axis lathes, and Transfer machines.
- Good organizational and math skills.
- Proficiency in using personal hand tools and measuring instruments.
