About the position

The CNC Swiss Machine Programmer/Operator is responsible for producing custom precision parts by operating multi-axis Swiss-style CNC machines. This role involves maintaining quality and safety standards, keeping accurate records, and ensuring the proper maintenance of equipment and supplies.

Responsibilities

• Operate multiple Swiss-style CNC machines throughout the shift to produce parts within required tolerances.
• Inspect precision products using various measuring and gauging tools and perform visual checks.
• Make offset adjustments, sharpen, change, and adjust tooling, and maintain fluids.
• Load bar feeder and measure bar stock for production.
• Check materials to ensure compliance with blueprints and job specifications.
• Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance and keeping a clean and safe workstation.
• Communicate with set-up personnel, foreman, and other shifts regarding quality and job status.

Requirements

• Previous experience operating Swiss-style CNC machines or completion of a company apprenticeship program.
• Ability to call up programs and offset tools with a solid understanding of basic CNC machine operation.
• Strong mathematical abilities and problem-solving skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
• Proficiency in reading precision gauges and ensuring visual accuracy.
