About the position

The Central Office/Data Center Operations Technician role involves supporting a major IT client in the NYC/NJ area by ensuring the installation and maintenance of infrastructure across multiple sites. The technician will be responsible for troubleshooting, hardware replacement, and maintaining organized systems to ensure seamless operations.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues to maintain optimal system performance.
  • Manage Return Merchandise Authorizations efficiently.
  • Replace faulty hardware components to ensure system reliability.
  • Perform power cycling procedures to reset and troubleshoot equipment.
  • Trace and manage cabling to maintain organized and functional systems.
  • Handle shipping and logistics for equipment and parts.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance and system integrity.
  • Manage RISC and ERAD processes effectively.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including cage cleaning and spare cabinet tidiness.
  • Manage inventory and ensure accurate labeling of equipment.

Requirements

  • Experience with Central Office or Data Center operations.
  • Strong troubleshooting and smart hands experience.
  • Equipment maintenance expertise.
  • Familiarity with rack and stack procedures.
