About the position

The Co-Manager at SONIC Drive-In plays a crucial role in assisting the General Manager with the overall operations of the restaurant. This part-time position involves managing staff, ensuring quality food service, and maintaining a clean and efficient environment for guests. The Co-Manager is responsible for training employees, monitoring compliance with operational standards, and enhancing customer service experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, train, monitor, and coach Team/Crew Members, Carhops, and Skating Carhops.
  • Direct and assign restaurant employees to ensure food service meets operational standards.
  • Adhere to and monitor employee compliance with the restaurant handbook, policies, and practices.
  • Perform restaurant opening and/or closing duties.
  • Monitor and adjust staffing levels, inventory levels, and food cost control as needed.
  • Complete weekly inventory as required.
  • Assist in administrative duties including maintaining files, records, and documentation.
  • Reinforce a customer service mentality and ensure employees focus on serving customers at all times.
  • Respond to guest requests respectfully and promptly.
  • Report guest complaints to the supervisor and assist in resolving them.

Requirements

  • Ability to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • General knowledge of the restaurant industry or retail operations.
  • Minimum of six months of restaurant management experience (QSR) or two years of entry-level retail management experience.
  • Experience running shifts without supervision.
  • Effective communication skills; basic math, reading, and computer skills.
  • Ability to follow directions and work autonomously; capable of multi-tasking and problem-solving.
  • Willingness to adhere to appearance, uniform, and hygiene standards.
