Our Fluor office in Greenville, SC is looking for an enthusiastic team member with a can-do attitude that supplements our growing process team. We are currently looking for a Chemical Engineering candidate for the Fall 2025 semester. This is an intern process engineering position where you will enhance and expand your engineering capabilities working on simple systems under the supervision of a more senior engineer. Typical tasks vary by project phase, and some potential tasks include performing process engineering assignments such as creating P&IDs (Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams) and working on PFDs (Process Flow Diagrams). You will also participate in P&ID and Safety reviews, perform pump hydraulics, line sizing, equipment sizing, calculating heat duty, and specifying instrument data. It is essential to understand and follow baseline documents for your project such as the prime contract, scope of work, and schedule. Additionally, you will get familiar with and apply Fluor's practices and procedures, along with other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Perform process engineering assignments such as creating P&IDs (Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams) and working on PFDs (Process Flow Diagrams)

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Familiarity with process engineering concepts and tools

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous internship or co-op experience in chemical engineering or related field
  • Knowledge of P&ID and PFD creation
  • Experience with process simulation software
