About the position

The Engineering Co-op opportunity at The AES Corporation is designed for Sophomore or Junior students pursuing degrees in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology. This role offers hands-on experience within the Transmission & Distribution Technical Operations Team, allowing interns to collaborate with various departments to ensure the reliable operation of the electric system. Interns will gain valuable insights into engineering and operations while contributing to the company's commitment to innovation and sustainability in the energy sector.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Operations groups to support the reliable operation of the distribution and transmission system, including Substations.
• Collect and manipulate data to assist in engineering tasks.
• Research and recommend plans of action for equipment/tools replacement and/or modification.
• Assist engineering and cross-functional teams in resolving equipment problems.
• Complete additional assignments as determined by the supervisor.

Requirements

• Sophomore or Junior student pursuing a four-year degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.
• Strong academic background with exceptional attention to detail.
• Good organization and presentation skills.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office programs, especially Excel and Word.

• Experience with data collection and manipulation.
