About the position

Delta Air Lines, Inc. is seeking a Co-Op student to join the Flight Operations Division at our World Headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia. This paid position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic environment while supporting the mission of operating the safest, most reliable, and efficient airline in the world. The Co-Op will work within the Operations Support, Technology & Business Strategy Department, specifically in the Project Development Office (PDO). The PDO is dedicated to assisting Flight Ops stakeholders in navigating the technology development process, utilizing a defined agile ecosystem for project intake, approval, maturation, and execution. This role is akin to that of a Business Analyst, where the Co-Op will engage with various departments within Flight Operations, including Flight Training & Standards, Flying Operations, Line Operations, Crew Resources & Scheduling, Pilot Hiring & Development, and Simulator Support. The Co-Op position requires a commitment to three alternating semesters of full-time work, with the flexibility to include one summer semester. The successful candidate will actively participate in team activities aimed at holistic development, partner with divisional stakeholders to identify business and process improvement opportunities, and support Delta's global innovation initiative. This includes applying creative design concepts to enhance stakeholder problem-solving approaches and developing feedback analysis using basic survey and statistical methodologies. The Co-Op will also support project leaders on technology programs, collaborating with external vendors and IT teams to troubleshoot issues and implement timely solutions, all while prioritizing safety and security in every aspect of the role. Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in team activities that aim to holistically develop Co-Ops.
  • Partner with multiple divisional stakeholders in a Business Analyst role to define business/process improvement opportunities.
  • Assist with the development and maturation of recommended solutions and implement initiative tracking methodologies.
  • Support Delta's global innovation initiative through applications of creative design concepts.
  • Develop and implement feedback analysis using basic survey and statistics methodologies.
  • Support project leaders on technology programs with external vendors and Information Technology teams.
  • Identify and troubleshoot issues, develop solutions, and implement resolutions in a timely manner to minimize impact to the operation.
  • Think, design, and create innovative solutions to support project teams in improving the pilot work experience.

Requirements

  • Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Business Administration (Information Technology Management), Aviation Management, or Industrial Engineering (or similar degree with applicable skills).
  • Strong interpersonal skills and servant leadership required to promote intentional relationships.
  • Preferably a rising Sophomore or rising Junior, as you are required to work 3 terms.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills required.
  • Internally motivated, curious, ready to learn, and eager to make an impact.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and time constraints while managing and prioritizing multiple project requests.
  • Project Management experience is a plus (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Kanban, etc.).
  • Experience with business cases, process mapping, and database management is a plus.
  • Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.
  • Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles.
  • Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
  • Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.
