About the position

As a Hardware Engineer Co-op at Rockwell Automation, you will join a dynamic team focused on developing next-generation automation control systems. This role involves validating the functionality and performance of new hardware, ensuring compliance with functional, regulatory, and safety requirements. The position emphasizes collaboration, knowledge sharing, and mentorship, providing an opportunity to grow within a supportive environment.

Responsibilities

  • Work on an agile team to develop test requirements and execute hardware verification test plans with traceability to product requirements.
  • Perform programming, analysis, and troubleshooting of electronic hardware prototypes.
  • Contribute to associated product design documentation and test reports.
  • Take ownership of assignments by understanding expected output and requesting help as needed.
  • Build relationships with technical leads and peers to grow knowledge of the product development lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree at an accredited college or university.
  • Legal authorization to work in the US is required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or similar technical degree.
  • Currently have and maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
  • Previous co-op/intern experience in Hardware Development and/or Embedded Systems.
  • Experience using design capture tools and understanding schematics.
  • Hands-on experience with hardware test equipment, including debuggers, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.
  • Experience developing and/or using programs (assembly, C/C++, Python, ladder) for product initialization, debug, or test.
  • Experience working as part of a team using Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Knowledge of industrial control systems and programmable logic controllers.
