About the position
The Global Logistics/Transportation Intern position at MSA Safety is designed for students who are passionate about making a difference in the field of logistics and supply chain management. This internship offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with the Global Logistics team and contribute to key business initiatives, particularly focusing on freight cost reduction projects. Interns will gain hands-on experience in tracking delivery performance, data modeling, and understanding the impacts of fuel pricing, while also working cross-functionally with various teams within the company.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Global Logistics team to achieve key business initiatives.
- Assist in Freight Cost Reduction Projects that impact MSA's bottom line.
- Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports to assess cost improvement opportunities.
- Track on-time delivery performance.
- Model data for shipping agreements.
- Understand the impacts of fuel pricing on logistics.
- Work cross-functionally with buying, distribution, and sales teams.
- Establish relationships with regional, national, and global service providers.
- Gain experience in overcoming global supply chain challenges.
Requirements
- Strong analytical capability.
- Proficiencies in MS Excel, MS Power Point, and MS Access.
- Prior knowledge of SAP is a plus.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to engage in teams and collaborate effectively.
- Actively pursuing a Bachelor's degree in a Business discipline, Supply Chain, Mathematics, or other analytical fields.
- Must have completed at least one semester of Sophomore year.
