About the position

The Co-op position in Manufacturing Engineering at Philips offers a 6-month paid internship opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students. This role is designed to provide hands-on experience in a HealthTech company, focusing on resolving manufacturing and quality issues, implementing cost reduction projects, and collaborating with various engineering teams to enhance manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

  • Support and provide input into projects to resolve manufacturing and quality problems, including line yield and nonconforming products.
  • Identify, analyze, and implement cost reduction projects, cycle time improvements, and lean manufacturing techniques to improve product cost structure.
  • Work with the engineering team on executing design and process validation activities, including statistical analysis and testing for manufacturing changes.
  • Collaborate with other groups such as New Product Development Engineering, Quality, and Operations to develop new processes and transition new designs into manufacturing.
  • Identify, specify, and coordinate the installation of new manufacturing equipment and upgrades for process improvement.

Requirements

  • Completed a minimum of 2 years of an Engineering degree program (Industrial and Mechanical preferred).
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; Visio experience is a plus.
  • 2-D CAD experience is a plus.
  • Basic technical writing skills.
  • Basic problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
  • Ability to follow instructions.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of LEAN manufacturing principles.

Benefits

  • Hourly pay range of $25.00 to $28.00, plus overtime eligibility.
