About the position

The Co-op position in Mechanical Engineering at Rockwell Automation offers students the opportunity to engage in cross-functional research and development teams, contributing to the design of innovative products for industrial applications. This role emphasizes creativity, teamwork, and the application of engineering principles to support the development of electrical connectors, sensors, and mechanical devices, while fostering a commitment to sustainability and productivity.

Responsibilities

  • Participate as a member of cross-functional research and development teams.
  • Support the design of industrial electrical connectors, optical/inductive sensors, and mechanical switches.
  • Perform engineering assignments on parts of major projects or complete projects.
  • Demonstrate creativity in developing engineering solutions.
  • Define and perform engineering tests to qualify designs.
  • Design electro-mechanical test systems for engineering validation projects.
  • Execute engineering change orders and manage BOMs.
  • Create and modify CAD models and drawings.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's or advanced degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Legal authorization to work in the US is required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Pursuing a bachelor's or advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering/Systems Engineering or similar.
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Previous Rockwell Automation work experience or training on their equipment.
  • Proficiency in 3D Solid Modeling CAD systems (preferably Pro/E, Creo, and Solidworks) and PLM software.
  • Experience with programming electro-mechanical systems.
  • Familiarity with SAP or other enterprise software.
  • Understanding of multi-action tooling fabrication techniques.
