About the position

The Operations Analytics Co-Op position is designed for undergraduate students pursuing degrees in fields such as Computer Science, Analytics, Economics, Industrial Engineering, or Information Systems. This role involves working closely with analytics professionals across various functions, including Technical Operations, Performance Management, Data Enablement, and Resource Planning. The co-op will engage in tasks that support operational performance measurement, data analysis, report development, and strategic recommendations to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in operations.

Responsibilities

• Measure current operational performance and/or customer satisfaction
• Identify optimization opportunities to reduce injuries and security line wait times
• Research, analyze and interpret operational data
• Develop new reports and dashboards and automate existing ones
• Perform reliability/root-cause analysis for parts and maintenance
• Evaluate and provide recommendations for improvement of key operational metrics including aircraft time at gate, gating efficiency, and feasibility of aircraft schedules
• Seek operational improvements to reduce aircraft taxi time and flight time
• Maintain, run and improve staffing models to support airport operations
• Provide strategic and operational support and develop performance metrics and goals
• Develop success factors and statistical evaluations of new procedures and systems

Requirements

• Undergraduate students in pursuit of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Analytics, Economics, Industrial Engineering, or Information Systems in a 4-year degree program
• Must be available for three alternating semesters
• Strong organizational, project management, and verbal/written communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data analysis tools and concepts
• Proficiency in Python, SQL or similar database query tool knowledge and Macro programming is strongly preferred
• Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data
• Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles
• Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency
• Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States
