About the position

As a Co-Op Process Engineer at Packaging Corporation of America (PCA), you will be engaged in a learning and development role at our Jackson mill. This position is designed for students who are eager to gain hands-on experience in the field of engineering, specifically within the corrugated packaging and paper production industries. The selected individual will work closely with all members of the department, participating in various process improvement projects that are critical to our operations. You will have the opportunity to contribute to significant projects that focus on process optimization, safety evaluations, data analysis, and capital project justification. This role is not just about observation; you will be actively involved in the engineering processes that drive our business forward. Your responsibilities will include coordinating projects during their design and construction phases, assisting with the checkout of software and hardware on new systems, and building maintenance databases for our equipment. Additionally, you will coordinate inspection programs for tanks and pressure vessels and work on special projects that aim to optimize chemical usage in the pulping process.
